WHAT IS IT?

Many high school students need guidance and support when deciding on programs to apply to and/or accept. This initiative is meant to provide students with a better understanding of our biology program at western through seminars, mentorship with upper year students, information sessions, hands-on activities, and a campus tour. High school students will have the opportunity to explore the many possible career paths the biology program leads to.​​

Participating Schools

We have welcomed students from several high schools across the London area, including:

  • Mitchell District Highschool

  • Catholic Central Secondary School

  • Westminister Secondary School

Sample Schedule

A typical visit runs as follows:

9:00 - 9:15 am – Arrival

9:15 - 9:45 am – BUGs presentation

10:00 - 11:00 am – Gel Electrophoresis Lab

11:30 - 12:20 am – Lunch: Q&A

12:20 - 1:00 pm – Dry Ice Show

1:10 - 2:00 pm – Campus tour

2:00 pm – Departure​
